Every year, during Brazilian Independence Holiday, the Brazilian Federation organize the Brazilian OffRoad Nationals in Buggy and Truggy.
This time we had over 80 entries that was very good for brazilian standards.
The tree day format race was : saturday – free pratice and controled pratice, sunday – classification heats and sunday – main finals.
The Team Serpent Brazil was present with two drivers, Heitor Nogueira and Rudi Gottschalk and the Team manager was Renato Paiva one of the best on-road drivers ever in Brazil.
Since the begining of free pratice was clear that SERPENT COBRA was very FAST and very reliable too.
Even the TEAM SERPENT Brazil just received the COBRA only two months ago, they find a very good set-up that works well in most of the tracks.
At the end of saturday Heitor was secon d, very close of the first one and with some things to improve for the next day, especially on tires, when the Team choose the RCW 305 medium to race with.They also had a great advantage by using the REDS engine that could make the ten minutes qualification runs without need to stop for refuel !!!
During qualifying on Sunday the TEAM SERPENT BRAZIL shows their power making one first, two seconds and one third place, that secures overall POLE-POSITION of Brazilian National !!!!!!!
Next day, monday, was the finals day . Despite the fact that Heitor was the first one as POLE POSITION , he had a problem with AMB sensor ,and Heitor had to start on the last place (12th) on the semifinal, but with spetacular performance the SERPENT COBRA overtook 10 drivers and finished second !!!
For the main he started in 3rd place but was involved in a crash on the first turn and once again go back to the last place on the race ( 12th). But the SERPENT COBRA was very fast an d just before the 20th minute he was at the 4th place but far from the front runners. Unfortunaly he had some technical issues
and at the end of 60 minute race he finished the BRAZILIAN NATIONAL at the 3rd place.
