race report One Race – One Man
I’m back home from Padova after great days of racing. This race is always very particular, as we have a lot of Italian drivers knowing the track and also the right tires and tire additive. This year i went 2 days before starting the event as last year my result was not great and i knew the track was opened so we got some time to practice and set the cars for the race.
Since the beginning i felt my Serpent SRX8 e-buggy was very good, fast and easy to drive. I only changed shocks and tires. I managed to qualify directly to semi-final and was able to bump up to the A-main ! At the triple A-Mains i finished 10th overall but i’m sure that with the tire i would like to run i could fight for top7 as my car was awesome and i was able to make 39.9 sec lap which is very good. ( I had to save the tires for nitro semi-final). In A3 (after semi-final nitro) i put the tire on the car and i finished 6th.
Nitro started slowly and after qualify i was in 1/8 final. I had to make my way up from 1/8 until semi-final. I had to change a little the car to get it faster. We manly changed spur gear, shocks, and anti-squat. At the semi-final i had no luck at the start as one driver crashed me on the second corner and put me off the track. I was last and was pushing hard to get into the A-main but at the end i finished 7th just 2 seconds behind Mike Truhe. It was a shame as i think with a normal start of the semi i could bump but that’s racing.
Overall i’m very happy with both of my cars, they were fast and easy to drive. Also happy to make a big progress comparing to last years event.
Attached my setup from both cars and some pictures.
