Weekend report
The 4th race of the Portuguese Nationals was held at the famous Leiria track, one of the best tracks in Portugal, now with a new type of surface that makes it even better.
With arround 60 drivers, it was a very good race, with 7 Serpent 811 running, 3 of them in the main final.
During qualifying, it was a hard fight between the front drivers, with Rodrigo Luis getting TQ in the first heat, and 2nd place in the second one, securing 2nd place overall after the 3 sessions.
Defenetly, the tyres made a big diference with the new type of surface.
During the semi-finals, it was clear it was going to be a hard fight in the final, the front drivers were setting a fast and consistent pace.
In the end, it was Serpent Rodrigo Luis who secure the top spot for the final, starting with number one.
During the main final, it was clear that tires will make the diference after the 45 minutes.
Luis led the race in the first minutes, with a hard fight with Carlos Durães, but his tires started to loose performance, and dropped to 2nd place, ending the 45 minutes final in that position.
Also, Carlos Ferreira finished 6th, and Helder Barros 8th.
Luis is now in 2nd place in the Portuguese Championship, with one more race to go next September.
Congratulations to all Serpent drivers for the good results.
