Offroad report
EAMK Summer series 2nd race. Date: 2nd of June Location: Luige racetrack, Estonia Drivers: 11 Class: 1/8 Nitro buggy
Trainings:
In the morning weather was awful, and track was totally wet, so they decided to put carpets all over the track. We had 30 minutes of trainings, track was open for all classes. We lowered the car littlebit and it was working fine again. I was fastest in trainings.
Qualifiers, system: best time of the day, 3 rounds
1st round: I had clean run, also only driver who had 9 laps, so after 1st qualifier I was 1st, 2nd place was about 25 seconds behind
2nd qual: I improved and weather was getting better, so the track wasn’t so wet anymore and it was easier to drive. Again, I had best time of the day
3rd qual: I had really fast run, but the car trapped in the carpet and I lost about 30 seconds.
So, 1st position, after qualifiers.
Final, length: 30 minutes
They took the carpets off, so we did car littlebit higher.
I had good start, but I did little mistake and fell 3rd, but after some corners I was 1st again. Everybody were crashing, but I tried not to do mistakes, and soon, all the drivers were 1 lap behind me. Everything was really great, speed was great, very few mistakes, and then, car didn’t turned to right. Dad ran again, and found, that the nut of the upper arm is gone, and bolt is out of his hole. He ran to the pits and repaired the car. Back at the track, 3rd place, about 10 minutes to go. Rhythm was bad in the beginning, I did some mistakes, about 40 seconds to 1st place. I started to push and soon my place was 2nd. Then, 1st place guy’s engine stopped, and after he got back to track, I was about 10 seconds behind him. 5 minutes to go and I was really close, he started to do mistakes. I drove slowly but without mistakes, he was faster but did mistakes. So, I overtook him and was 1st, it was really tight battle but his mistakes continued and soon I had about 15 seconds lead and I finished 1st. It was really great battle Car was working well, it lets me push as hard as I can, so I can use all my skills, and I like it.
