The 2nd round of PEMKAR series race in Brunei was held last weekend at the National Indoor Stadium. The track itself was an indoor carpet however due to new carpets being used the condition of the track was very loose. Qualifying rounds started off on Friday, Wirawan, a local Serpent driver with his S411 LE immediately top off the sheet from the 1st qualifying round, though his car was still very nervous in the tight corners. He changed his set ups for the 2nd rounds of qualifying and it immediately paid off, he posted the fastest lap time and bettered his run by 2 laps and again TQ’ed the round. After the 3rd round of qualifying he confirmed his position for TQ. He was the only racer to post 29 lapper run while the closest rivals were still 2 laps behind. This gave him the favorite to win the final rounds.
The final rounds were held on Sunday, as expected Wirawan with his S411 LE took victory straight from the 1st Final to the 3rd Final. This confirmed him as the Champion for PEMKAR series race Round 2. This win also marked the second straight wins for him and Serpent in this series race. As the points leader in this MOD Open TC Class he has this to say ” The track condition were very tricky due to the new carpet, but after finding my set ups, my S411 was very fast and agile yet I still get the rear grip that I wanted, this eases me to get the TQ and Champion, this car has always been easy to fine tune and it reacted to the changes I made on the set ups as I expected, overall I m very happy with its handling and performance”.
