Hi everyone,
last weekend the second young of Italian Nationals took place in the hard track of Club CMS, located in Monsummano, Tuscany, middle Italy. After managing to put my Cobra in the main final at the first race in Sacile, I was very confident with my package (Serpent-Picco-Aka) and this helped me out keeping calm during free practices to test some solutions, but in the end the setup had only some little changes from my basic one. I chose purple springs on the rear, while i usually choose green ones, and moved the camber link to the lower inner hole in the rear. The lap in Monsummano is very long, so i decided not to risk too much in the qualifyings and to keep trying things. I was happy to be in the quarter finals instead of the semis, because with 20 extra minutes of driving i would have been able to practice.
I passed through my quarter final as second, due to a wrong tyre choice, but switched to AKA iBeams in the semi and got a good 4th place, staying out of troubles and pitting @ 10 minutes.
In the final i had a very bad start from 8th spot, remaining involved in a multiple car crash and when i was back on my wheels i was 12th, with more than half a track of gap from the leaders. Then I decided to go for a good fuel strategy, going for 9 minutes, and i managed to climb to a very good 5th place overall. I’m now looking forward both the 3rd round in Campogalliano, where the Cobra should be great! Stay tuned!
my set-up: Setup Cobra Monsummano
