Nilsson TQ and win this weekend in Sweden with Serpent 411 Eryx !
Race Report: MSEC Karlstad, Sweden (Swedish Midland Indoor Series)
The track of KDMRs race in the Swedish midland indoor series (MSEC) consisted of two high speed chicanes and one large zig-zag section. The traction was very low in the first rounds of practise in the morning, which did not come as a shock to me, as all temporary tracks are slippery early on. I started working on the roll centers of my car in an attempt to find some grip.
The two opening rounds of qualifying was more or less disastrous. I TQed the first round, but got disqualified for having a too lightweight car. In the second qualifying round I got held up in traffic because of the unfavourable starting position (DQ in round 1), and missed the top spot by 0.02 seconds. In the last round, I managed to improve my time by 6 seconds, securing the overall TQ position.
The finals proceeded without any drama. There were fights for second position behind me, which always benefitted me. I was able to speed ahead and could cruise to the finish line, passing lapped drivers safely.
1: Michael Nilsson, Vast8 Goteborg – 411 Eryx
2: Thomas Ek, Uppsala RC
3: Mattias Johansson, Lidkopings RCK
This was my second race with the new S411 Eryx, and I’m very impressed with the performance of the new car. The fastest laptimes may not be faster, but the mean times are definitely lower. The car handles more consistently, which makes for great ease of driving.
The new dampers are working smoothly, as are the new internal differential gears.
