report from Czech Nationals rd. 2 in Zidlochovice
On Friday afternoon we made it to the Funrace Arena in Zidlochovice for practice before the second round of Czech Nationals. The track was pretty challenging in practice with some bumpy low grip areas and some high grip water sugared areas, so you have to adapt to changing conditions from corner to corner. But before the race on Saturday there was a big rain, which cleaned whole track from sugar and it became just low grip and really bumpy.
Jiri Mara ran both 1/8 IC and E categories with his SRX8 buggies. Four other drivers running Serpent rides Marek Ornst, Vaclav Broz, Tony and Kubik Hybler competed just in e buggy class. Qualifications were challenging as track was getting drier each round. Jiri took the second places in both categories. Vaclav made it into the main final from the 9th place too. Marek was starting from the first position on the starting grid in B main. In electric finals Jiri fighted with Martin Bayer for the win, but after some unsportsman contacts from other drivers he kept the second, Vaclav finished the 10th and Marek dominated his B final. In nitro class Jiri dominated his semifinal and made it to the main final grid from second place. And once again kept his second place.
