ETS – Austria
The Austrian ETS is in the books and a pretty good result for Serpent drivers.
In the F1 class 2016-2017 overall winner and Serpent designer David Ehrbar was really quick again and qualified 2nd overall with a supersmall gap to Jan. Tim Benson was also in good shape with Serpent F110 SF3 and took 6th in qualifying. Debleare in 15th and Anna in 18th doing really well too.
In the finals David pushed hard to get passed Jan, but it did not work out. So in the end a very good 2nd place overall and a nice 4th place for Tim Benson moving up 2 spots from his qualifying result .
The narrow chassis which more brands have adopted now, is standard on the F110 SF3 kits since 2016.
In the stock class Tim Benson was using a 4X EVO version with a number of new parts which worked out really well. 4th after qualifying and 4th overall, although laptime wise a podium finish was well within reach. Showing good progress. More info on the 4X EVO to follow soon.
In modified the 3 fastest Serpent racers all ended up in the C-main. Wilck was experimenting between the Project 4X and 4X EVO parts. In some cases this went better but there is more to come. In the 3rd qualifier taking 9th overall and showing clear progress. In the 4th qualifier, still trying to make it into the A-main he overdid and crashed on the straight and needed marshalling. Anyway happy with progress and some more new things to try. Borowski and Ehrbar were both using the Project 4X EVO parts and were pretty pleased with the ranking and result. Pressing hard to make it into the B-main again soon.
Many more indoor carpet races on the calender. We will keep you posted !
