Austin Woodyard finished 2nd in E-Truggy and 4th with his E-Buggy at the Motorama race 2017.
Report and Setup will follow soon
Last weekend i attended to Montpellier GP, one of the big races of the year as almost all of the best European drivers attended every year. My package with the Serpent Cobra SRX8 was well prepared !
This year the weather was a big problem with some rain falling and with only one round of practice because of that. Anyway the people from the track made an awesome job cleaning the track as most as possible in order to get a good track for the event.
During qualification i got a 9th and 12th which put which gave me a 15th overall after 5 rounds (counting the best 2) and got a spot directly on the semi final. On the semi i had a terrible start as other car crashed at the first corner and i dropped to last. Then i started recovering slowly but my battery just got troubles and i had to retire.
Overall it was a good weekend for me, of course i would like to be at the a-main and i think i had enough speed to get there but it was not bad and i felt my package was much better than before which makes me happy and confident for the upcoming races. Also was great so share the time with all the other Serpent drivers with a very good environment. ! Hope to see you soon guys!
See you at the Neo race!
Attached some pictures of the race.

Serpent team attended the GPOL05 in a nice hall in western Lyon, in France.
Most of the European Top guns attended the race with the Martins (Bayer and Wollanka), Lee Martin, Reno Savoya, David Ronnefalk and of course Serpent Jörn Neumann.
Max Marmonier Storm RC staff made a great job in the friday night and built an incredible track with crossing jumps and quite a lot of tough section. The carpet was a brand new one : together with the ballistic controlled tyres it gave a super high traction.
Jorn was using the new SRX2 MH. The first runs showed he had to make some setup as the car was creating a lot of traction and was really closed to traction roll. Jorn lowered the ride height, hardened the dampening to drive the landing more comfortable and adjusted the caster to the minimum. The front wing gave also more front end efficiency and rear sway bar helped to control rolling.
First final didn’t go like expected with some traffic and last minute crash before the right cross jump, but the second final went really smooth and Jorn got the win with a comfortable gap.
On Sunday, Jorn used the same SDX 4 he was driving at the DHI cup. Because of how high the traction was, he changed the shocks position as well as the ride height. The car was really fast with a lot of corner speed, but needed to be a bit more easy on the high speed corners. With 3° rear toe in, the car was really quick and well balanced. Unfortunately, the qualification were not as good as expected. The lap times were really good but none of the heat were trouble free : luck left on sunday morning and Jorn finished at a disappointing 4th place. This didn’t help on the A main as Jorn had to overtake Lee before fighting with leaders. He also have to drive a bit over the limit which was a bit over the top on this tough layout. Both the Martins finished 1st and second after some nice fight in the 2nd and 3rd final ! That was a nice race. In the end still a very good 3rd place overall for Neumann.Spyder SRX2-MH: http://promo.serpent.com/srx2-mh/Spyder SDX4: http://promo.serpent.com/sdx4/
This was a nice opportunity to show the Serpent line to the attending drivers as well as a lot of frenchies coming at the race as spectators. They had the opportunity to chat with Serpent staff and team and see the performance of the car coming from the box with only a couple of optional parts.
Last weekend I attended the Lyon GP for the first time. I must say it was one of the best carpet tracks I ever raced on. It was very technical and had maximum traction. Really challenging for driver and the material.
On Saturday it was only 2WD, with 2 Rounds practice, followed by 3 Qualifications and 2 8min mains. After qualifying I found myself in the 3rd position with the brand new Serpent SRX2 MH. A1 was good until the last couple were I just was unlucky, but still finished 3rd. A2 and still the podium was wide open. After a couple laps I could take the lead with a decent gap to 2nd place and cruise to the end to take the overall win!
Sunday and it was 4WD time. This time with the new Serpent SDX4. After practice I was 4th, I needed to find some more consistency as on one lap I was right there. We made some small changes and improved my 5min pace, just unlucky again as a marshall run on the track and hit my car. Q3 was better and I made a safe run to secure 4th on the grid for this time three 5min A-mains.
A1 was a close race between Bayer, Wollanka and me, I finished 3rd just 1.5sec behind. A2 Again a really close race. I was up to 2nd behind Wollanka with just a couple laps to go, but hit a dot and spun out. Finished 2nd just 0.9sec behind.
A3 I got a good start and could overtake Lee Martin after a couple laps. I tried to push hard to catch Bayer, but it was too much and I had a couple of mistakes which put me down. Overall I finished 3rd.
Two times podium was a great achievement. Thanks to all my sponsors.

This weekend Me, my Dad, and Blake went to The Ohio Rc Factory for the 30th Mid-west Winter Champs. When we got there Thursday night, we set-up our pits and got ready for the weekend! I would be running Pro Ebuggy, Pro Nitro Buggy, and Pro Nitro Truggy!
Friday was practice day, and we focused and got ours cars dialed for qualifying! The tire of choice was AKA SS Catapults on both buggys, and AKA SS Gridirons for truggy!
Saturday was qualifying, qualifying went great as I TQed Ebuggy, qualified 2nd in Nitro Buggy, and 5th in Nitro Truggy!
Sunday was main day, I had the confidence in me and the cars to win!
In Ebuggy, I stayed out front and lead the whole race and took the win!
In Nitro Truggy, I had two tire blowouts, a flame out in pits and I still manage to finish 5th!
In Nitro Buggy, I had a decent start, worked my back up to second and had an unfortunate break. Overall it was an awesome weekend!
Lastly, I want to thank all my sponsors, my mom & dad for all the help and support, and Blake Whitehead for getting me there & back and for the good times!
Last week was held the second race of the RCCARS CUP 2016/17 in Dopiewo near Poznan,
which is part of the practise for the last great race “PLMSRC” of which will be held in April this year.
In this event I start in OnRoad Stock Class, and my son Dawid in 2WD Buggy Junior and OnRoad Hobby.
It was my first start with my new Project 4X.
I’ll start with the configuration based on the carpet, with only one small change gear differential 5000cSt. Unfortunately, in 1 and 2 quali , I do not have rear grip at the exit from the corner on power. In 3rd quali I run carefully and finish on 2 position.
4th quali I do a little change in configuration of the rear reactive system, on the chub, I change the length of link, from inner to outer hole.
Grip of the exit of the corner was better, but when I try to exit more agresiv from corner, I still have a litle problem with oversteer.
Finals I finished in positions 2-2-3, overall 2nd place.
It was a time when my son (6 years David) run his new Serpent SRX2 MH.
After eliminations David took 3 place for the finals (3-4-3-3 finish in the Qual).
All three finals finished on 3rd and overall 3 place.
The SRX2MH car was great, but we need more work on the jump, to many errors.
We must work on little understeer at the entry of the corner.
The second class was Onroad for David is Hobby (dedicated youngest driver). Here David dominate taking TQ and overall win. After easily winning the TQ and win in the first final, the second final finished on second position, few errors on track.
The third final was epic. For 3min David was on the first place, one mistake and a half lap in the back. For next 1.5 minutes he slowly reduce the distance to the leader. On the last lap, leader error, and David took the lead and won the event.
here is my race report from the 2017 DHI-Cup.The race is always the start of the new year for me and it is a combined Offroad and Onroad race with 320 entries. Friday started practice with 4 runs for everybody followed by 2 Rounds of 2WD qualifying.I was able to get a TQ in Round 2 and a 2nd place in the first Round, which put me overnight TQ. On Saturday morning were 2 more Rounds of 2WD qualifying, but I could not better my previous scores and started 2nd for the finals. After that it was time for 4WD qualifying and I started out with a TQ run and a 3rd place in Round 2. Unfortunately Round 3 was not so good, but another 3rd place finish in Round 4 let me start 3rd on the grid for the finals.First up were the 2WD mains. In the first two mains I was able to finish 2nd behind Michael. The last main some small setup changes improved my car and I was able to take the last leg. Overall I finished 2nd.Now onto 4WD. The track seemed to change a bit from qualifying and started to get lower traction for the finals. After some great racing, I finished 3rd in the first to legs to put me again on the podium 3rd overall with the brand new Serpent SDX4.
