Toni Gruber mit Serpent S 411 LE auch im 2.Rennen des neuen Jahres erfolgreich unterwegs

Am vergangenen Wochenende fand in Plauen das 2.Hallenrennen 2012 statt.

Es war ein Tamiya – Lauf und der 2.Lauf zum Vogtland-Cup 2012 mit insgesamt knapp 60 Startern.

Toni startete beim Vogtland-Cup in der Klasse Hobby und in der Klasse Standard.

Es waren wie immer sehr spannende  Rennen mit guter Beteiligung.

5 Serpent S 400 / S411 und S411 LE gingen an den Start.

Die Vorläufe gestalteten sich sehr interessant und Toni sicherte sich die Pole.

So konnte er die Finalläufe vom Start weg bestimmen.

Er gewann somit auch die beiden 2 A – Finals mit Rundenzeiten die nur knapp unter dem Rundenrekord lagen.

Die Podestplätz hatten wiederum die Serpentfahrer gepachtet.

In der Hobby – Klasse starteten ebenfalls weitere  Serpent Fahrzeuge, Ralf Schumann mit      S 411, Christian Zimmer mit S 400, Toni Gruber mit S 411 LE und Tim Gruber ebenfalls mit      S 411 LE.

Weiterer Serpent S411 mit Ralf Schumann auf Platz 4. und Tim Gruber mit S411 LE in der U14 Wertung ebenfalls auf Platz 4.

Before the Mains started, a very light drizzle continue to shower the track and that made a very good traction without any mud building up on the car. On the first Truggy qualifying, Edward with his Cobra truggy and Nova bonito TQd with 18 laps and gave him the pole grid position. With about 15 mins left on the finals, edward maintained a lead of almost 2 laps from the second car Clemen pancho(serpent/Nova Bonito) when a freak accident after making the big triple jump forced him to enter the pit area and fix his broken shock holder and this allowed Clemen pancho to take the lead for good followed by Mugen Driver Jody coseteng and third placer Serpent driver/ Nova Toro Nero Din dong.

For the Buggy, It was clemen pancho with his serpent/ Nova btts who TQd and took the pole grid position but because of an early flameouts, Denis Lucindo driving his Hongnor X3 Sabre with Nova Bonito took/maintained the lead for the entire mains and ended up with 3 laps ahead of fellow HongNor X3 sabre/ Nova BTTS driver Edward sio who was able to finish the race after suffering a bad landing causing his front shock tower to bend badly . Third place was Jody Coseteng , Mugen /Fusion.

Next Event will be the Philippine Masters on March 3,2012- Nitro Truggy and March 4,2012- Nitro Buggy at JUNKYARD RACETRACK. See you all.

SERPENT has won in two categories. In SERPENT TC category the winner by position are : TQ+first position is Michal BLAHOVSKÝ , fifth position is Jan Domanský and the sixth position is Petr Klatovsky.

In the  KATEGORY 1/10 Pan Car the winner is Igor Vlahovič with the SERPENT S100.

On 10-February 11, 2012 we held Open Challenge races in Brandys nad Labem.The race was held at Sport Center hotel , where the races were held in the past.

We would like to continue this tradition. Next race we will have 17.3.2012.

The hotel provides plenty of space. The track was about 480 square meters or 30mx16m size. There was used new racing carpet in the race track , which in free trainings the driving was very well because the track was without bumps. The track was plane. The border lines were used plastic rod and line tracing was made of special low-laths, which were beveled on the edges. RC-cars were piloted by the tribune (grandstands) , which was built on a mobile scaffold 9 m length to capacity up to 10 racers. Space for spectators was ensured by the large walkway around the race track, where it was possible to bring a snack from the bar and still enjoy the atmosphere of the race. The participation in our Open Challenge race Brandys was very nice. Came together with 46 participants.

Besides the racing hall is another gym that was used as a depot for the racers.

The winner of the lending of PEUGEOT 508 SW from our company Domanský Ltd with a weekend with a full tank for free was : John Peter.

It all started on a cold morning in Tampa,FL around 3:30 A.M. as we began our 4:30 minute adventure into the dragons Lair….Mills Pond… This area of Florida is the densest Florida has to offer for skilled drivers that race on a regularly in the Nitro 1/8^th class. You can always expect that there will be good racing and a challenging track.

Mills Pond has some of the better clay in our series line up. They typically have higher speed tracks that prove to be a little more challenging when setting up the car. This years layout was really nice with a lot of high speed and slower speed downhill off camber turns. These types of sections always are a little tricky to find steering and stability. The weather was quite cold as well in the 60’s. In this case you will have to adjust a few things on the cars dampening, spring and sway bar combination to try and balance not only the weather but track layout.

This season has gone quite well for me running both classes. It is tough though, simply because you have no time to glue tires, change the cars and prepare for your next heat race. This event only had 7 heats of drivers. The turnouts have been quite low this season, due to the increased interest in the FORCE series as well. Either way it makes for some good racing.

I started out with my typical setup in both classes and found that my Cobra truggy was a little pushy and loose as well as my buggy. Finding grip is always a challenge in cooler temperatures, but also when the track is hard but damp. Clay is best when its totally dry and the sun is baking down on it. Either way, I have to make adjustments to my oil to account for the temperature. Since the last race we ran was 10 degrees cooler, I went slightly thicker on my oil. Now my Cobra buggy needed a little more love than my truck did, so I also opted for a stiffer front spring. I went to a pink from Red.

In the second round my buggy and truggy both improved which was quite nice and helped me secure the fastest times and TQ position.

In the finals I ran Hole shots on the truggy and Blockades on the buggy, both in M4 compounds by Proline. The tires worked really well and I was very happy with the performance and traction. I think the Proline tires have been really good in the conditions this years series is being run in for the one day format. I have to say it has improved my results. In the truggy final , I lead start to finish with an almost perfect run. In the buggy final, I didn’t run quite as well as I would have liked but overall it was a pretty decent run as well.

I want to say thanks to the Mills Pond crew for doing a great job on getting the track nursed back to health after the rain..

Also, great job to all the Serpent drivers that made the A finals and also the two winners that used our product to win the Sportsman class. With 9 out of 12 pro buggies in the A final, that was really awesome to see. I am happy that so many people really enjoy our Cobra buggy/truggy and the best is yet to come for you guys. We have so many things yet up our sleeves.

Just some good results from Australia,811be won the Tasmanian state title over the weekend,tq and won all mains.. Buggy just gets better and better with every race..

“Quick summary from weekend racing Tasmania EP Off Road State Title

The entire event went perfect for me only dropped one race from 6 qualifies due to lapper issues. I TQ and won all three legs of the A mains finals. Also broke the track record for EP by over a second, so to date I have only lost 1 final since owning this car, was its first race and placed third… and no mechanical failures. We also run 15 min finals in our local event so it is a good sign of a durable buggy. It was also the first race for me running the new LRP IX8,and SWEEP tyres and neither could be faulted.
