May 5th, 2012USA: Cupps wins with 966-TE
May 4th, 2012This past weekend was the 3rd Race of The South West Championship Series here in Texas at Mikes hobbyshop/ Gulf coast Raceway in Porter. This race was 2 weeks after the gulf coast track hosted the Rc pro race so the track was in pretty good shape with plenty of traction. We had about thirty racers for three different classes and their was plenty of good racing to watch and fun times for everyone.
On to the racing this was my 2nd race with the all new 966te v2 and i would have to say the new upgrades are amazing. The car with the help from Paolo’s set up advice was very easy to drive consistent. Responded well to set up changes and feels like it has a very large sweet spot. I ended up tq and winning the race, so far this year 966 has won all three of our series races and in race 3 took the the top 3 spots so we had a good showing.
would like to thank my sponsor for their support Desoto Racing, Serpent, NovaRossi, Byrons Racing fuel, Airtronics, PT Shock oils, Avid, and Mikes Hobby Shop, And a big thank you to Paolo Morganti for all your help.
Next race is the Texas Biggie

From the first run, car was fast and consistent, both in technical and fast sections.
Time laps was close to other two fast drivers Martini and Menicucci
Sunday Qualify and Race
Qualify
Day began with very cloudy sky, and starts to rain just few minutes before quali N.1, so the first two qualifying was very difficult and i finish in 5 and 4th position. In the last one, track’s back dry and i close in 2nd position, 0.6 sec. behind pole sitter.
Finals
Starting from 3rd, first final i drove easy and constant and i close in same position
In second final, i had a mistake on the start and i dropped in 10th, but in the last three laps i take the second position.
Last final starts bad , i made a little mistake in second lap and i lost the leader; i close 2nd without forcing because leader was too far.
Maybe i had to test anti-dive because track was very bumpy, but car was so good and gives the right feeling from first run.
I want to thank my Sponsor

The track was an indoor carpet with combination of fast and technical lay out.

Luxembourg: Richard with 966-TE wins 1st Nats
May 2nd, 2012
The opening round of the Luxembourg Onroad Championships took place last weekend. Unfortunately it started to rain on Sunday morning but finally it finished just in time for the start of the qualifications. The conditions were difficult, the track was slippery while the temperature was cold and very windy.
Starting from 2nd position I had a clean start and I was able to take the 1st place before the first corner until the end of the race with an easily win by 2 laps and this due to performance of the my Serpent 966 TE powered by the very fast Xceed DS5 Edo engine.
A good start into this new season 2012. Next race will be held on 2/3 May 2012 and followed by the European Championship B in France (Thionville) from 21-25 May 2012 where our target will be to fight for the win for Serpent Motosport.
Final result:
1) Dirk Rischard – Serpent 966 TE – Xceed DS5 Edo – Xceed Tires (clean tires) - Xceed fuel
2) Libar Jacques - Serpent 966
3) Beltrallo Patrick – Mugen – OS

May 2nd, 2012Turkye: Alp with Cobra takes 2nd
May 1st, 2012Mustafa Alp did well finishing 2nd in qualifying and 2nd in the main final as well.

The offroad racing in Turkye is growing, also thanks to active distributors and organisor Ciddi Amator.
Race report by Mustafa ALP
Directly after coming from Turkish Onroad Gas Nationals in İzmir, which was dominated by Serpent, we headed to Istanbul for a Nitro Offroad Buggy race; Buggyburn 2012. This race was organised by Ciddiamatör, and the race was held in Snappy Raceway.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we built our cars in Serdar’s Evilhobbyshop and we hit the track on Thursday and Friday. As I didn’t have any offroad experience before, I struggled a lot at first, but after practising more and more, I got used to it. On Saturday I had a day off to enjoy the wonderful city.
Sunday started with free practises, followed by controlled practises and qualifiers and then main finals. We had 4 Serpents present at the race and 3 of us qualified for the 30 minute A-Main final; Serdar Aytemiz, Ahmet Tekelioglu and me.
In final I started slowly, knowing that I can not push the car to the limits without risking making mistakes. Alain Sarafyan and Deniz Aksüt, who were very experienced offroad drivers quickly created a gap in first few minutes. I kept calm and drove my own race in 3rd position. Shortly after, Deniz had some mechanical problems which costed him a couple laps, and I was in 2nd position. Top positions didnt change too much after that, and I finished 2nd. Serdar had a bad start and fell back at first, but he made his way up to fifth position at the end. Ahmet had some mechanical problems which resulted a disappointing 9th. Our pit crew, Ateş and Ufuk did a fantastic job, doing the fastest refuelings of the weekend.
I learned a lot in my first offroad experience and looking forward to have more offroad races. I want to thank Snappy Raceway owner Işık Alem and Race organisator Fatih Büyüktaş for making this race possible and my sponsor Serdar Aytemiz(EvilHobbyShop) for providing Serpent and Xceed products.
